Bracelet of Happiness

My foster sister bought me that when we went to Pagoda or also known as Kek Lok Si Temple 5 years ago.. I dont really know what kind of stone they use but its really cool.. The popo (old Chinese woman) who take care of the store smiled and said that these bracelet is for happiness when she first saw my sister hold and gently feel the smooth texture of the stone. What caught her interest was the natural design and color of the stone, it makes you feel cozy..

So.. This is it..

Sister: "Nah, this is for you, for your HAPPINESS..."

Me: "Heeeee.. Thank you.."

DHL stand for...

I believe that everybody knows what DHL is, but how many of you know what's the meaning of DHL?

I'm using DHL courier service for over 3 years and until few days ago only i just realize that i dont even know what DHL stands for..

It started when my friend called and told me that he will attend an interview with DHL and he want to know a bit about the company background and services from me instead of searching it from the internet. I answered all the questions smoothly except for the last one..

"What's DHL stand for?"

"Hoh? Ermm.. Wait ha i think first, hmm... Err.. What ar? I dont know la weh.." I replied with giggled.

"!&*%$4+?#..."

But dont worry, now i know already and i can proudly answer your question with confidence.. Hehehe..

DHL originally stands for Dalsey, Hillblom and Lynn, it's a Deutsche Post company that provides international shipping of documents and freight as well as contract logistics. The company was founded in 1969 by Adrian Dalsey, Larry Hillblom and Robert Lynn..

Thank you! =)

Ganglion???

"OMG.. Where the hell is this bump came from??!"

That was my first expression when i saw that tiny little marble on my wrist.. Well, i admit it's quite hurt when i accidentally hit it at my door room.. Ackhhh..!

This is how my Ganglion looks like.

Want to know what is this GANGLION all about?
Here you are..

A ganglion cyst is a tumor or swelling on top of a joint or the covering of a tendon (tissue that connects muscle to bone). It looks like a sac of liquid (cyst). Inside the cyst is a thick, sticky, clear, colorless, jellylike material. Depending on the size, cysts may feel firm or spongy.

One large cyst or many smaller ones may develop. Multiple small cyst can give the appearance of more than one cyst, but a common stalk within the deeper tissue usually connects them. This type of cyst is not harmful and accounts for about half of all soft tissue tumors of the hand.

Ganglion cysts are more common in women, and 70% occur in people between 20-40 years of age. Rarely, ganglion cysts can occur in children younger than 10 years of age.

But what is the cause??

The cause of ganglion cysts is NOT KNOWN. One theory suggests that TRAUMA causes the tissue of the joint to break down forming small cysts which then join into a larger, more obvious mass.

The good news is...

Many ganglion cysts (38%-58%) can disappear without any treatment at all. But, various treatments have been proposed over the years. Some include telling people with cysts without symptoms not to worry, using a needle to remove the cyst's content (aspiration), or surgery.

Aspiration usually includes placing a needle into the cyst, drawing the liquid material out, injecting a steroid compound (which acts as an anti-inflammatory agent), and then splinting the wrist to keep it from moving.

If compare aspiration/injection and surgical removal, in general, cysts return less often after surgery.

Injection.. Surgical.. Injection.. Surgical.. Ermmmm.. Ah! Both way also i dont want to do.. +___+

*The most important fact that you need to know is, i NEVER had TRAUMA in my entire life.. Uff! (Except for the cockroach, but the TRAGEDY was happened in a long long time ago..) Heheh..

Learning Mandarin - Days of the week

Actually this chapter is quite similar with Numbers & Time which we have learned on the previous posting. Once you understand the flow, it will be easy for you to remember and capture the whole pic..

Days Of The Week

The main phrase is:

Week - Xing Qi

So, to form a word, you must add the numbers.. (Xing Qi + Numbers = Weekdays)
For an examples:

Monday - Xing Qi Yi
Tuesday - Xing Qi Er
Wednesday - Xing Qi San
Thursday - Xing Qi Si
Friday - Xing Qi Wu
Saturday - Xing Qi Liu
*Sunday - Xing Qi Tian / Li Pan Tian

*Pls note on Sunday, it will pronounced as "Tian", even the number 7 in Mandarin is "Qi".. Dont ask me why cos i have asked my colleague but she said that is the rule, she also cant explain the exact reason..

Simple Sentences

When will you go to Shanghai?
Ni shen me shi hou qu Shanghai?

I'm going to Shanghai on Sunday.
Xing qi tian wo qu Shanghai.

I want to go to Pudong on Monday.
Xing qi yi wo yao qu Pudong.

End of chapter for today, will update you more on next posting.. =)
