What is Leukemia?

Before this, i just know that Leukemia is a type of blood cancer but i do not know the details.. Yes, people will not know the full extent of things until they experienced it them-self..

Leukemia is a type of cancer of the blood or bone marrow characterized by an abnormal increase of immature white blood cells called "blasts". Leukemia is a broad term covering a spectrum of diseases. In turn, it is part of the even broader group of diseases affecting the blood, bone marrow, and lymphoid system (part of the circulatory system, comprising a network of conduits called lymphatic vessels that carry a clear fluid called lymph unidirectionally toward the heart), which are all known as hematological neoplasms.

Referring to 2000 record, approximately 256,000 children and adults around the world developed some form of leukemia, and 209,000 died from it.

Clinically and pathologically, leukemia is subdivided into a variety of large groups. The first division is between its acute and chronic form.

Type of Leukemia

Acute leukemia
- Characterized by a rapid increase in the numbers of immature blood cells.
- Crowding due to such cells makes the bone marrow unable to produce healthy blood cells.
- Immediate treatment is required.
- Most common forms of leukemia in children.

Chronic leukemia
- Characterized by the excessive build up of relatively mature, but still abnormal, white blood cells.
- Taking months or year to progress, the cells are produced at a much higher rate than normal, resulting in many abnormal white blood cells.
- Need to monitored for some time before treatment to ensure maximum effectiveness of therapy.
- Mostly occurs in older people.

Additionally, the diseases are subdivided according to which kind of blood cell is affected. This split divides leukemia into lymphoblastic or lymphocytic leukemias and myeloid or myelogenous leukemias.

*Shall continue more details regarding ALL..

Learning Japanese - Greeting

Hello peeps! Today we're going to learn a lil bit of Japanese words.. :-)

Ya, i know.. It's been quite some time i didn't post about my Korean and Mandarin.. But don't worry, i'll make sure that i post it soon.. Heheh..

Lets start..

Good Morning
Ohayo gozaimasu (oh-hai-yoe go-za-mahss)

- Unlike the English "Good Morning", which can be used right up until lunchtime, ohayo gozaimasu is normally only said when you meet someone first thing in the morning, up until about 11am.

Good Afternoon
Konnichi wa (kone-nee-chee-wah)

Good Evening
Konban wa (kome-bahn wah)

Thank you very much
Domo arigato (doe-moe ah-ree-gah-toe)

Pardon me / Excuse me / I'm sorry / Thank you
Sumimasen (sue-me-mah-sen)

- Because of its variety meanings, sumimasen is an extremely useful word. Use it liberally. It is often shortened to simasen.

Please (i)
Dozo (doe-zoe)

- This is one of the many words that means "please" in Japanese. Dozo is used in the sense of "please go first", "please continue" or "after you".

Please (ii)
Kudasai (koo-dah-sai)

- This word for "please give me" is almost never used by itself. Rather, it normally follows the command form of verbs as in tabete kudasai (tah-bay-tay koo-dah-sai), "please eat" or nonde kudasai (noan-day koo-dah-sai), "please drink". It also used with nouns to convey the meaning "please", as in "please bring me water" or "please hand me that".

I (i)
Watashi (wah-tah-she)

- There are several commonly used term in Japanese for the word "I", based on gender and other factors, but watashi is common and can be used by anyone in any situation.

I (ii)
Watakushi (wah-tock-she)

- Watakushi can be used by both men and women in formal as well as informal situations.

Wakarimasu ka? Heheh.. It mean, "Do you understand?".. :-))
That's all for now, shall continue next time.. Mata ne! (See you later!)..

Russell Peters in Malaysia

Hey guys!

Do you know who is Russell Peters? Don't get confuse between Russell Peters and Peter Russell okay. Peter Russell is a psychology speaker who talks about spiritual, consciousness, science, earth and environment, etc..  He is well known in his psychology of meditation.. On his official website, he got mentioned that,

"2012 marks the end of the Mayan calendar's 5125-year cycle, leading many to prophecy this as a time of great change, for some the end of Western civilization, for others a time of transformation and renewal. Whatever may or may not happen in 2012, it is clear that we a living through a critical period of human history, and the need for widespread shift in human thinking and value is becoming increasingly apparent. From this perspective, 2012 is a symbol of the times we are passing through. It represents the temporal epi-center of a cultural earthquake, whose reverberations are getting stronger day by day."

I don't know why, but i'm started to think about 2012 movie.. (my stomach getting nervous) Okay, enough about Peter Russell.. Now back to the main subject..

Russell Peter

Russell Peter is a famous Canadian-India comedian, actor and disc jockey. He began performing in Toronto in 1989 and has been nominated for four Gemini Awards.

Russell Peter's stand-up performances are mostly made up of observational comedy where he uses humor to highlight racial, ethnic, class and cultural stereotypes. He often refers his own life experiences growing up in an Indian family and impersonates various English accents of different group in his act to poke fun at each group.

Peters in widely known for his comedy punchlines "Somebody gonna get a hurt real bad" in which he tells a jock about his childhood with a traditional Indian father who would use corporal punishment and "Be a man!" while imitating an Asian trying to get him to pay more for an item at a shop.

According to Forbes.com, Peters earned an estimated $15 million between June 2009 and June 2010, continuing his run as one of the highest-paid comedians after earning an estimated $10 million in the prior year's report. He was ranked as the 7th highest paid comedian by Forbes.

Russell Peter will be in Malaysia soon! The tickets will be sold online from RM128 right up to RM438, i heard that the tickets sold out within an hour after tickets are made publicly available on-line on April 18th last week. Ermm... Maybe you can ask anyone who can't make it, get them to sell it to you.. =))

Holiday in Medan, Indonesia

Penang - Medan - Lake Toba

That was the main route for my journey on December last year.. Hehehe.. Just manage to find time to update it in here.. Sorry guys, hope it's not too late to share.. :-)

Overall, the holiday was SUPERB..!Although i had to finish the journey within 1 week time, but seriously the experience that i had in every second were such an ENJOYABLE moment and it's GREAT..

Actually i booked the air ticket quite late, so the fare that i paid was a little more expensive than it should. This is the 2nd time i fly with Air Asia and so far the airlines was always punctual.. I have no comment about the food, cos the journey there only took about 40 to 45 minutes and sometimes it can be early than that depending  on the weather..

I reached Polonia Airport at night time and here i would like to give you some advice, when you arrived at the airport, you will find a few people who want to offer lifting services, but DO NOT allow them to do so, just say "Thank You", get your luggage and hurry walk out from there. The same goes when you are outside, don't bother about people who offer you a Taxi service, because the cost will be double and sometimes 3 times higher than the actual price.. Just take 'angkut' (it's similar to a van or mini bus), cheap and safe.. Hehehe..

Ok, enough with that.. Lets go to the main story..  =))

I went to Lake Toba with my foster sister and she's Indonesian, so i do not have to worry about anything.. Heheh.. The distance from Medan to Lake Toba is about 4 hours plus, i bet your exhaustion in the course will disappear once you see the beauty of Lake Toba.. Really!!

Ok, for your information.. Lake Toba is a lake and super volcano. The lake is 100 kilometers long and 30 kilometers wide, and 505 meters at its deepest point. Located in the middle of the northern part of the Indonesian Island of Sumatra. It is the largest lake in Indonesia and the largest volcanic lake in the world.

Arrived in Parapat - Tigaraja, we took a boat to TukTuk at Samosir Island, Samosir Island is a large volcanic island in Lake Toba, its like an island within an island.. (Do you understand to what i'm trying to say?)

Tiga Raja Jetty in Parapat

On the boat.. Can you see the Indonesia flag behind there..?

My sis was busy chatting with the stewed peanuts seller on the boat.. Yummy!

Beautiful scenery

Boat ride from Parapat to TukTuk is less than 30 minutes.. I think so... Heheh.. Because i'm so fascinated by the views of the islands there, i can feel that the time passed too fast! Sorry guys.. :-)

One of the island in Lake Toba

I think they came here for honeymoon.. Hehehe..

One of the chalet in TukTuk

Another chalet in TukTuk, look at that stairs.. It's nice right?

Most of the chalets here adopt the characteristics of Batak house

Same as this one..

In TukTuk, we stayed at Carolina Hotel for 3 nights.. Guess what, we only paid around RM60 per night!! It's damn cheap..! They have 49 rooms set in a beautiful tropical garden, a restaurant with a veranda overlooking the lake. Their staff are very helpful and friendly. They have a lake area for swimming (fresh water of course, so you do not have to worry about fear of ingesting salt water, hehehe..) with a diving board and pontoon to relax.. Last but not least, they also offer motorbike rental and free wifi in the restaurant area (the speed might be quite slow, but still ok..) Heheh.. Overall, it is worth! I like it and i will definitely choose to stay there again..

Our room is on the right hand side

Carolina's beautiful garden (this view was taken from our balcony)

Carolina's Restaurant

One shot before climbed up the stairs

Luxury suite at Carolina

What a nice building....

Took a nap before going out for dinner

My last meal in Carolina.. By the way, i like their sambal (not in the picture).. It's super hot..! :-)

First day at TukTuk, we just walked around the hotel while enjoying the beauty of the garden. The fresh air will make you feel very natural and comfortable.. Every corner of this place is very stunning.. Waaaaa.. I just miss this place so much! :-(

Swimming area (picture taken from our balcony)..

If you want to know, the management of this hotel has set a rule which every each of the resident here are not allowed to make noise after 9pm.. That's why the atmosphere here is very quite at night.. =)

Second day at TukTuk, we woke up early morning and start our journey around the island and for this reason, we rent a motor for a full day (9am - 6pm) which cost us around RM25.. Once again, i would like to emphasize here that it is very cheap!!

As i said, on that day we went around the island, we just stop at interesting places with beautiful scenery to take photographs. You guys imagine, from 9am - 6pm, we only managed to visit a quarter of the island!! Haihhh... Soooo tired, my back and hip all pain, i'm very sure my sister's condition must be more severe.. Hahah.. What a bad luck to have a BIG sister like me.. =))) Pity her...

Spectacular view of Lake Toba

Fascinated.....

I'm so amazed, speechless....!

Impressive sight

Incredibly relieving

Soothing....

This picture was taken when we stopped for a quick rest, this is the only stall at the top of the hill..

Hill paddy planting area

This motorcycle was soooo worthy to us! Without it, we cant go much further.. Thanks bike! :-)

Along the way you may see there a lot of big statue which is actually their cemeteries for Batak people ancestors..

You can see a buffalo anywhere and everywhere you go..  The best thing is, they will not chase after you.. ;-)

We stopped by at Tomok to had our lunch there, most of the Batak people is Christian, so.. we have to be more careful on the food, but dont worry, it is not that hard to find 'halal' food here.. After filling the hungry stomach, we walked through the row of shops and bought a lots of souvenirs.. Seriously our backpack was full of t-shirs, key chains, batik cloth, etc... Luckily my sister know the local language, so it's very easy for us to deal with the traders.. My sister was good at bargaining thingy.. Heheheh..

We also spend some time to visit Batak Museum at Simanindo, i found that Batak house is very unique because we can only see the stairs to the house but we cannot see the door because the door was blocked by a wall. I managed to climbed the stairs and take a look inside the Batak house and i can feel the spirit of the traditional culture which is still well protected..

Batak Museum

Third day at TukTuk, we went over to Parapat by boat.. Just walked aimlessly, looking for delicious food.. Nothing much to do, went back to the hotel, changed our cloth and 'dushhhhhhhh...', hehehe.. jumped into the lake.. Waaaaa.. The water is sooooo cold, my sister cant even step into it, she was shivering.. And i... Cant stop laughing at her.. Hahaha..

Road conditions in Parapat

Chevrolet.. Common brand in Indonesia...

After all... Every moment that i captured in this place is very valuable, the serenity that i get here might be very difficult to find elsewhere.. Hopefully Lake Toba natural beauty will remain protected.. :-)

Learn From The EAGLE

Do you know that eagle has the longest life-span of its species?

It can live up to 70 years.. But to reach this age, the eagle must make a hard decision in its 40's..

Its long and flexible talons can no longer grab prey which serves as food.. Its long and sharp beak becomes bent.. Its old-aged and heavy wings, due to their thick feathers, become stuck to its chest and make it difficult to fly..

Then, the eagle is left with only two options, die or go through a painful process of change which lasts 150 days..

The process requires that the eagle fly to a mountain top and sit on its nest.. The the eagle knocks it's beak against a rock until it plucks it out.. After plucking it out, the eagle will wait for a new beak to grow back and then it will pluck out its talons.. When its new talons grow back, the eagle starts plucking its old-aged feathers..

And after 5 months, the eagle takes its famous flight of rebirth and lives for 30 more years...

* From this story i've learn that in order to survive we have to start a change process.. :-))

Why Are The Jews So Smart?

Someone sent me this article.. And from my reading i found that this is very interesting to share at least we can learn on how to work out our brain.. Since we all lives in the same planet, lets NOT to argue about races or religious, just take the good side of it.. Ok? =)))

* Strictly advise that this is just for sharing.. Appreciate your cooperation..

For those who are not sure what Jews is, Jews also known as the Jewish people, are a nation and an enthnoreligious group, originating in the Israelites or Hebrews of the Ancient Near East.

---------------------------------------------

Article by Dr. Stephen Carr Leon

Since I spent about 3 year in Israel for internship in few hospital there, it came to my mind about doing research of "Why the Jews are Intelligent?"

It goes without denial that Jews are ahead in many aspects of life such as engineering, music, science and most obvious in business where nearly 70% of world trade is held by the Jews such as cosmetic, fashion, food, arms, hotels and film industries (Hollywood and others).

During the 2nd year, in December 1980, and I was about to go back to California, this idea came to me and I was wandering why God gave this ability to them? Is this a coincidence or is it man-made that could be produced like the goods from a factory. My thesis took about 8 years to gather all the information as accurately as possible, like the food intake, culture, religion, initial preparation of pregnancy and etc and I would compare them with other races.

Let’s start with initial preparation of pregnancy. In Israel, the first thing I noticed is that the pregnant mother would always sing and play piano and would always try to solve mathematical problems together with the husband, and I was very surprised to see the mother always carry math books and sometimes I would help her to solve some problems, I would asked, "Is this for your child in the womb?" she would answer "Yes to train the child still in the womb so that it would be a genius later on". She would solve the problem without let-up until the child is born.

Another thing I noticed, is about the food, she loved to eat almonds and dates with milk, for lunch she would take bread and fish without the head, salads mixed with almonds and other nuts, they believed fish is good for the development of brain and the fish’s head is bad for the brain. And also it is like the culture of the Jews for pregnant mothers to take cod liver oil.

When I was invited for dinner, I always noticed that they always like to eat fish (flesh and fillet) and no meat, according to their belief, meat and fish together will not give any benefit to our body. Salad and nuts is a must, especially almonds.

They would always eat fruits first before the main meal. Their belief if you eat the main meal first (like bread or rice) then fruits, this will make us feel sleepy and difficult to understand any lesson you learn in school.

In Israel, smoking is a taboo, if you are their guest, don’t smoke in their house, they would politely ask you to go out for a smoke. According to scientist in university of Israel, nicotine would destroy the main cell in our brain and will affect the genes and DNA, resulting in generation of moron or defective brain. So all those smokers, please take note (Ironically, the biggest producer of cigarettes is… you know who.. make your own guess).

The food intake for the child is always under the guidance of the parent, first, the fruits with almonds, followed by cod liver oil. In my assessment, the Jewish child, most of them knew 3 languages, ie Hebrew, Arabic and English, since childhood they would be trained in playing piano and violin, it is a must.

Accordingly, it is believed that this practice will increase the IQ of the child and will make him a genius. And according to Jewish scientist, the vibration of music would stimulate the brain and that is why there are lots of geniuses among the Jews…

Since grade 1 to 6, they would be taught business mathematics and science subjects would be their first preference. For comparison I could see the children in California, their IQ is about 6 years back. And Jewish children were also involved in athletics such as archery and shooting, accordingly it is believed that archery and shooting would make the brain more focused on decision and precision.

In high school, students are more inclined to study science, they would create products, indulged in all sorts of projects , although some looks very funny or useless, but all attention is given seriously especially if it is armaments, medicine or engineering, the idea will be introduced in higher institute in polytechnics or universities.

Business faculty will be given more preference, in the last year of university, the students in business would be given a project and practically they can only pass if their group (about 10 in a group) can make profit of USD1 million.

Don’t be surprised, this is the reality and that is why half of the business in the world is held by the Jews, who design the latest Levis, it is being designed in the Israel university by the faculty of business and fashion.

Have you seen them how they prayed, they always shake their heads, accordingly they believed this action will stimulate and provide more oxygen to the brain.

Look at the Japanese, they always bow down their heads as their culture, lots of them are smart, they love sushi (fresh fish), is this a coincidence?

In New York, the commercial/trading centre for the Jews are based in New York, catering for the Jews only, if they had any beneficial idea, their committee will give free interest loan and will make sure the business prosper. Due to this, Starbucks, dell computer, Coca Cola, DKNY, Oracle, Levis, Dunkin Donut , Hollywood films and hundreds other businesses were under their sponsorship.

Jewish graduates from faculty of medicine in New York were encouraged to register with them and allowed to practice privately with this free interest loan, now I knew why most hospital in New York and California always lack of specialist doctors.

Smoking will lead to generations of moron. During my visit to Singapore in 2005, it surprised me to see smokers are regarded as outcasts and the price of a pack of cigarettes is about USD 7, like in Israel it is a taboo and their form of government is similar to the Israelis. And that is the reason why most of their universities are of high standard, even though Singapore is only as big as Manhattan.

Look at Indonesia, everywhere people are smoking, and price of a pack of cigarette is very cheap only USD0.70 cents. and the results with millions of people, you can count the number of universities, what technology or product they produced that they can be proud of,…never!; can they speak other than their own language, why it is so difficult for them to master English language for example, all this is due to smoking, think for yourself.

In my thesis, I do not touch religion or race. The bottom line is, could we produce intelligent generations just like the Jews?

The answer could be in the affirmative. The changes needed are in our daily habits of eating, parenting and I guess within 3 generations, it could be achieved. This I could observe in my grandson, for example at the age of 9 he could write a 5-page essay on "Why I love tomato?"

May all of us be in peace and succeeded in producing a future generations of genius for the betterment of humankind no matter who you are.

Finally i got the answer!!

One whole day i've been thinking about this band.. I'm just confuse between Go Min Nam and Park Shin Hye.. Wondering why i'm confuse? I keep searching for the REAL Go Min Nam who is suppose to be a boy according to the drama since Park Shin Hye who play as Go Min Nyu was just replaced her twin brother and act as Go Min Nam.. It's all because i thought A.N.Jell is an existing boy band just like Shinee, SS501, Super Junior, 2PM or others but it is NOT.. A.N.Jell is just a fictional boy band in one of a romantic + comedy korean drama title "He's Beautiful"... (*_*)!

Okay, stop thinking about that.. Anyhow, i like their song 'Promise' and 'Still'...

Stool & Health

Do you know that examining your poop is one of the best ways to find out what's really going on in your body??

I believe that every morning each one of us got to go through this situation but how many of you examine your own stool? (Dont tell me that you dont even look at it..)   (-_-)!

Question #1: How long does it take you to have a bowel movement?

Answer: Healthy bowel movements happen within 60 seconds of sitting on the toilet. The stool should easily come out without straining, grunting or any discomfort. It should have the consistency of toothpaste. If you have time to read a newspaper while sitting on the toilet, you probably have a problem with constipation or poor bowel health.

Question #2: What is the shape of your stool?

Answer: Healthy stool averages about four to six inches long and are shaped like a banana or a torpedo. Very narrow, pencil-shaped stool is a sign your colon walls are impacted or you have polyps or growths on the inside of your colon or rectum. This causes the stool to squeeze to get through. STRESS can also create narrow stool. Hard, round or pellet-shaped stool is a possible sign of poor liver function, lack of exercise, dehydration or constipation.

Question #3: Is your stool accompanied by foul odor?

Anwer: Gas or odor is a sign of a bacterial imbalance in your intestinal flora. The "bad" bacteria release foul-smelling gases and toxins that can cramp your colon and create embarrassing odors. You can eliminate this odor by removing debris and encrusted feces from the walls of your intestines and restoring the balance in your intestinal flora.

Question #4: What color is your stool?

Answer: According to Mayo Clinic research, all shades of brown and even green are considered normal stool colors. And the foods you eat can affect the color of your stool. For example, beets, tomato juice, blueberries, popsicles and green leafy vegetables can affect your stool color. However, a distinct change in stool color can be a warning sign for health problems. Yellow-colored stool indicates your food is moving too quickly through your digestive tract as in the case of diarrhea. If stool is greasy or foul-smelling, it may indicate excess fat caused by bad absorption of nutrients. Green-colored stool means your food isn't properly being processed through your intestines.. As a result, bile isn't broken down and gives your stool that green color. Green stool can also mean you're eating too much sugar, fruits and vegetables and not enough grains or salt. Gray or ashy colored stool indicates undigested fats or heavy use of prescription or over-the-counter drugs that contain aluminum hydroxide. It can also indicate a lack of bile in the stool that may be caused by a bile duct obstruction. Black stool is a serious, warning sign for bleeding in the upper gastrointestinal tract possibly the stomach. Bright red stool may indicate bleeding in the lower intestinal tract, possibly the large intestine or rectum. Hemorrhoids may also be the source of the bleeding. If your stool floats, it means that there is too much fats in your diet.

Question #5: Do you pass gas while you're having a bowel movement or have you noticed air or bubbles in your stool?

Answer: Air or bubbles in stool can indicate an intestinal imbalance. Gas producing bacteria may be overgrowing and competing with the healthier flora in your gut. **Please know this: A normal bowel movement happens within 60 seconds of sitting on the toilet. There should be no straining, pain, bleeding or foul odor accompanied with your bowel movements. And wiping afterwards should be easy and simple using just one or two pieces of toilet paper! If that's not your experience in the bathroom then you need to give your inntestines a thorough internal cleaning!

When your colon is in danger, it will do anything and everything to send out an S.O.S for health! That means giving you "dragon breath" and "B.O."! If you notice strong body odor, especially under your armpits... (I cant stand with this one.. +__+) Or if your friends shy away and frequently offer you breath mints, LISTEN to your colon, it's screaming for help!

And INTESTINAL parasites can also trigger:
Painful gas and bloating
Irritable bowels
Runny stool or diarrhea
Allergies
Skin outbreaks
Insomnia
Poor immune system Muscle pain and joint soreness
And much more!

Wife: I'm dying
Husband jumps with joy but types, "Sweetheart, how can i live without you?"
Wife: You idiot! I'm dying my hair!
Husband muttered, "Bloody English Language!"

An angry wife to her husband on phone: "Where the hell are you?"
Husband: Darling, you remember that jewellery shop where you saw the diamond necklace and totally fell in love with it, and i didnt have money that time, and i said, "Baby, it'll be yours one day.."?
Wife (with a smile and blushing): Yeah, i remember that my love!
Husband: I am in the pub just next to that shop.
Wife slapped phone.

An airline introduced a special package for businessmen.

Husband was seriously ill

Doc to wife: Give him healthy breakfast, be pleasant and in good mood, dont discuss your problems, no TV, dont demand new clothes and gold jewels. Do this for one year and he will be OK.

On the way home...

Husband: What did the doc say?
Wife: No chance for you to survive.

New SIM to surprise her husband
Woman buys a new SIM Card and puts it in her phone and decides to surprise her husband who is seated on the couch in the living room.

She goes to the kitchen, calls her husband with the new number. "Hello Darling"

The husband responds in a low tone: "Let me call you back"

Later the husband called back the number, "Ok honey, the dumb lady is in the kitchen"

-----------------------------------------------

Wife: You always carry my photo in your handbag to the office. Why?
Darling: When there is a problem, no matter how impossible, i look at your picture and the problem disappears.
Wife: You see, how miraculous and powerful i am for you?
Darling: Yes, i see your picture and say to myself, "What other problem can be greater than this one?".

--------------------------------------------

Wife: Honey, what are you looking for?
Husband: Nothins
Wife: Why have you been reading our marriage certificate for an hour!
Husband: I was just looking for the expiry date.

Husband asks: Do you know the meaning of WIFE? It means... Without Information Fighting Everytime!
